Pinxton Village Infant Schools is the shared name for Longwood Infant Academy and John King Infant Academy. They are led by our Executive Head Teacher, Mrs Jan Pierce, who also leads our junior school, Kirkstead Junior Academy. The three schools are known collectively as 'Pinxton Village Academies' and have one Governing Board. Mr Adam Butterworth is the Deputy Head Teacher across our three schools. We have two infant school sites which differ in facilities and size. However, staff work very hard to offer the children of Pinxton, and the surrounding area, an exciting, fun and stimulating Infant education regardless of the site they attend.
In 2018 our schools formally joined the Flying High Trust Partnership and now work collaboratively with our Trust colleagues to achieve our shared aim of being the best schools in the universe!
For more information about our schools please contact either site, or use the tabs to navigate around the website.
Mrs Julie Beardsmore and Mrs Elaine Fearn work in our Longwood office and are able to deal with enquiries.
In September 2014 Longwood Infant School was awarded Teaching School status. The Teaching School is known as the '4Derbyshire Teaching School Alliance'. Mrs Victoria Jones is the Teaching School Manager.
