We had a super week in school, completing challenges and considering how we can ALL demonstrate kindness in our daily lives.  We hope that the children showed their kindness at home this week and will continue to do so in the future.

Miss Dyson's Class

Look at all the things that Miss Dyson's class did during Kindness Week.
  • We have read the story the kindness elves and had an elf in our classroom who put people on the smiley face board for being kind.
  • We made our own elves with our faces on and said how we we are kind.
  • We wrote our name on a heart like the kindness elves to sprinkle kindness.
  • At the end of the week we said something we did that was kind at home or in school as we stuck our hearts on the whiteboard.
  • We watched a clip on the internet about being showing kindness by being polite.
  • We acted out how to be kind in small groups with Miss Reynolds.

Today the children were demonstrating their gratitude towards others. This looks like it will be the easiest challenge of the week - our children are fab at remembering to say THANK YOU all the time :)

On Tuesday we hosted the author Troy Jenkinson who shared his book 'The best Mummy Snails in the Whole Wide World'.  The children enjoyed meeting the snails and talking to Troy about being an author.

The children worked on being compassion superheroes. The children talked about trying to notice when their friends were sad and offering them some help.
